Poverty Inc.: Screening and Panel Discussion

Event Date:
Wednesday, November 8, 2017 - 6:30pm

Poverty Inc is an award-winning documentary (Trailer: https://vimeo.com/109863354) that analyzes the impact that some Non-Governmental Organizations have on countries facing extreme poverty or those which have encountered detrimental natural disasters.

Although many organizations have good intentions, the work that is implemented does not always lead to a durable solution. Are we supporting the continuance of the poor to stay poor and the rich to get richer?

Join us at the screening and learn from a discussion with panelists, one of whom is Andreas Widmer - a featured speaker in the documentary and successful business entrepreneur.

Offered by: Newman Centre and St. Michael's College.
