St. Paul: Peace of Mind & Mental Health

Event Date:
Wednesday, September 4, 2019 - 7:00pm

For the Apostle Paul, peace of mind is a concrete result of one’s intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Spirit that raised Him to life. (See Romans 5:1, Colossians 1:20, Galatians 5:22) However, this free gift must be intentionally pursued and willfully received. (Colossians 3:15, Philippians 4:7) For Paul, a major part of this reception is a mental exercise, “setting the mind” as Paul would describe it.

In a culture where many struggle with anxiety and depression, Paul’s insight offers a spiritual complement to clinical practices developed to promote mental health. In this talk, Vlad Mamaradlo will unpack Paul’s insights on how to maintain a stable mind that leads to peace within.

As always, adoration with iv24 to follow. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Bring a friend!
