Theology on Tap WEST: Catholic Dating

Community Health Center, the Office of Catholic Youth, and the local parishes invite young adults (19-39) to join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation on theological topics! Munchies provided, cash bar available - come and bring a friend!

How do we date with Catholic values in our secular world?

Llorene & Renard Romero

Llorene is an MBA graduate from the Schulich School of Business and currently works in Marketing for Bell Mobility. She's an avid runner, having completed many races including a full 42km marathon. Having studied Accounting, Renard currently works as a Senior Financial Analyst at J. Walter Thompson Media. "He's passionate about Finance, Real Estate, travelling and Soca music." Llorene and Renard met at the Catholic Chaplaincy at York University (CCY) in 2006. After years of friendship, they began dating in January 2009 and were married in August 2014. They now have a beautiful 11 month old son, Joshua.

Leanna Cappiello

Leanna Cappiello holds her Bachelor in Drama in Education & Community, went on to complete her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, and is currently pursuing her M.T.S. at Regis College. Leanna’s work has landed her in classrooms, hospitals, theatres and campuses. She has been an intern with Salt+Light Media, which led her to an internship in New York City at the United Nations with the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See. As a freelance writer, Leanna and has been published in both secular and religious media, including CBC’s Generation Why Magazine, Salt+Light Blog, Examiner.com, The Catholic Register, and Busted Halo. As the Social & Community Coordinator at St. Basil’s Parish, Leanna’s work centres around building community through education, relationship, and hospitality.

Leslie Gyulay

Born and raised by Catholic parents in East York, Paris - Leslie Gyulay is a hip-hop connoisseur, whiskey enthusiast, and lover of all things Aquinas. Having studied at the University of St. Michael's College and worked at the Archdiocese of Paris, Leslie credits his growing love of the faith to the writings of Benedict XVI & John Paul II. He hopes to live long enough to see the Leafs win the Stanley Cup.
