Theology on Tap WEST: Ignatian Discernment of God's Will in Daily Life

Event Date:
Monday, May 8, 2017 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Community Health Center, the Office of Catholic Youth, and the local parishes invite young adults (19-39) to join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation on theological topics! Munchies provided, cash bar available - come and bring a friend!
Special guest: John O'Brien, SJ.

How do I make small daily decisions as well as larger life decisions? How can I be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit? In an era of fast and constant information, connectivity, and social media, many decisions can feel overwhelming because I want to choose what is right, what will make me happy and what will bring me success. But what is the role of my own conscience and heart in decision making? How can the way I make decisions impact consolation and desolation?

John O’Brien was born in British Columbia, and has been a Jesuit since 2008. His B.A. was in communications, and he also has a degree in philosophy from the Gregorian University (Rome) and in theology from the Paris School of Theology, in which he wrote on the need for silence in our lives. He taught media literacy and Ignatian spirituality at Corpus Christi College, Vancouver, and is also involved in retreat ministry with young adults. He often has an uncontrollable urge to make puns, which both delights and torments his friends.
